...that is the meaning of "Godspeed" of course. So going to make this a short post since I'm incredibly tired and my brain isn't really functioning properly. This post, is of course about Godspeed You! Black Emperor [who used to be called Godspeed You Black Emperor!, but obviously thought the quotation mark made more of a statement in the middle like that]. And they are of course the band I mentioned yesterday in my post about Explosions in the Sky. I found out a little more about them, too. Thus, I shall quote from here:

"They had never played a show, and somehow got this gig booked on July 4th as Breaker Morant. That night as we finished the remarkable set, we sat out, watching the fireworks, and they decided that they were going to be called Explosions In The Sky from now on."
